In response to facing harassment online, she launched Crash Override, a crisis hotline and advocacy organization that deals with online harrassment and abuse. She has consulted with several large organizations such as Twitter and Google, spoken at conferences like SXSW, and her writing has been published in numerous publications such as Vice and Cracked.

Author Salman Rushdie has been taken off a ventilator and is able to talk (and joke) Saturday, a day after he was stabbed as he prepared to give a lecture in upstate New York.
