Shawnna Jannah

Shawnna Jannah serves as the managing director of human resources at PEN America. A New York native, she has an extensive background in leading human resources, training, and career development efforts, primarily in the retail sector. Prior to joining PEN America, Jannah was a human resources manager at Macy’s flagship location at Herald Square in NY, where she was a resource for guidance on human resources issues including recruiting, onboarding, compensation and benefits, company policies, performance management, career development, and advancement. Jannah is devoted to volunteerism, serving as a leader for several organizations across New York City geared toward helping others in need. She has also been involved with the production of community-based efforts to promote spoken word poetry, new authors, music, and dramatic arts. Since 1997 she has served as a local choir director. She is a graduate of the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and SHRM-CP certified.
