Mohammed Ali Alani

Mohammed “Mo” Ali Alani is the communications and operations assistant for Artists at Risk Connection at PEN America. He holds a BA in Global Liberal Studies from NYU. He spent his freshman year studying in Washington D.C., where he worked as a legislative intern with the Hawaii congressional delegation. During his internship, he drafted and presented a policy proposal focused on reforming the refugee admittance cap-setting process. In his Junior year, he lived in Dubai, working at a foremost media and advertising agency focused on planning and executing an effective communications strategy for the public health response in the early phases of the COVID-19 pandemic.
