Matthew Alexander

Matthew Alexander is a former senior military interrogator and the author of Kill or Capture: How a Special Operations Task Force Took Down a Notorious Al Qaeda Terrorist and the acclaimed How to Break a Terrorist. He has conducted or supervised over 1,300 interrogations and led an elite interrogation team in Iraq that located Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, the former Al Qaeda leader, who was subsequently killed in an air strike. He appears frequently on television and radio as an expert on interrogations and has published op-eds in The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times. His television appearances include The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, CNN, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, MSNBC News, Fox News with Chris Wallace, and the CBS Evening News. Alexander is currently a Fellow for UCLA’s Burkle Center for International Relations.
