Marisol Estrella

Marisol Estrella is a Free Expression Leadership Fellow with the Digital Safety team at PE America. She is a rising senior at Columbia University, majoring in the History of Science and Technology. At Columbia, she is on the founding team of a new STS journal where she writes articles on the intersection of technology and ethics, and is helping launch a fellowship for HS students around the world. Marisol previously held positions at a disability rights nonprofit and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. Outside of work and university, Marisol composes music inspired by protest chants, including songs banned during dictatorships and found sounds from protests in Latin America. Her works have been performed by NYC ensembles including the New York Philharmonic and TILT Brass. At PEN America, she looks forward to learning more about the intersection of free expression, digital safety, and policy.
