Eugène Nicole’s scholarship includes the critical edition of Proust’s In Search of Lost Time.

The first volume of L’Oeuvre des mers (The Fabrics of the Sea), published in 1988, was a finalist for the Medicis prize. Les larmes de Pierre was short-listed for the Renaudot Prize, and Le caillou de l’Enfant-Perdu received an award from the Societe des gens de lettres de France. The 2011 edition of L’Oeuvre des mers was awarded the Joseph Kessel Prize.
