Elena Jaffe

Elena Jaffe (she/her) is a rising junior at the Northwestern School of Communication. She is majoring in Global History and Theatre. Elena is passionate about defending free expression and human rights, so everyone can access important information. Previously, she worked as an intern in the Community Affairs department at the Manhattan Borough President’s Office. She also worked on women’s issues and empowerment at the Bella Abzug Leadership Institute. At Northwestern, Elena is a board member of the Purple Crayon Players, a theatre company for young audiences. She strongly believes in promoting accessibility and introducing children to different perspectives, whether it is through the theatre or the written word. Elena is also a Leopold Fellow, researching historical trials. In her free time, Elena loves to read, travel, do trivia, and act in the theatre. She is so excited to be working as a fellow in the Free Expression and Education department this summer.
