Brenda Shaughnessy

Brenda Shaughnessy is the author of three poetry collections, most recently Our Andromeda (Copper Canyon Press), a New York Times Book Review Notable Book and finalist for the Griffin Poetry Prize. Her other books are Human Dark with Sugar, a James Laughlin Award recipient and finalist for the NBCC Award, and Interior with Sudden Joy. Her poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry, Harper’s, McSweeney’s, The Nation, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, T Magazine, The Penguin Anthology of Twentieth-Century American Poetry, and elsewhere. She was a Guggenheim Fellow in 2013 and is assistant professor of English and creative writing at Rutgers University-Newark.
