Asma Laouira

Asma Laouira (she/her) is a political psychologist who is fluent in Arabic, French, and English. She holds an M.A. degree from Stony Brook University in New York, and a B.A. in Political Science from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Her focus is on International Affairs, Human Rights, International Justice, and media. Her education has helped her acquire valuable knowledge about terrorism, genocide, and crimes against humanity. Asma is passionate about freedom of expression and strongly believes in the right to hold an opinion and express it without interference.  
 
Throughout her academic journey, Asma learned to assess citizens’ ability to accurately process information and examine how partisan elite cues, media bias, and misinformation threaten democracies. She studies the role of social identities, ideology, personality traits and morality in shaping public opinion. Asma’s credentials include drafting strategies for politicians, media companies, and government agencies to promote accuracy in their messaging. She is a proud mother of two beautiful boys who bring her joy and happiness every day.
