The Pan-European Picnic Redux

May 3 | Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park | NYC

Pack your picnic basket and rug, and take the family to DUMBO’s Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pan-European Picnic, the seminal event that helped bring down the Iron Curtain and end communism in Europe.

Hosted by Anthony Appiah and featuring special guests Michael R. Meyer, Eszter Babarczy, and Georg Hoffmann-Ostenhof, the open-air event will include live music, readings, and much more.

The Pan-European Picnic Redux is presented by the Extremely Hungary Festival as part of the PEN World Voices Festival; it is presented in collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Open Society Archive, and the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation
