Children’s Literature: Braving Our Endangered World

Moderated by Andrew Revkin

A child’s sense of wonder can provide the spark from which an activist will later grow. Writers for children and young adults show how people interact with nature, and reveal the world as a fascinating and ever-changing place with troubles all its own—rising temperatures, shrinking ice caps, and decreasing biodiversity. Adults and kids alike will be on the edge of their seats as three award-winning authors discuss the mystery of vanishing bee colonies, the habits of clever bonobos, and the endangered peoples of the Andaman Islands. For adults and kids ages 10 and up.
