November 17, 2011 | Westbeth Center for the Arts | New York City

PEN hosted an evening of literary readings in the warmth of the Westbeth artist residency located in the West Village. A 100-strong crowd followed their resident guides into the maze-like upper floors of Westbeth to take in live readings. Each of the readings was hosted by a different resident who generously opened their apartment to readers and audience alike.

Hal Foster, Townsend Martin Professor of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University, reads an excerpt from his latest book, “The Art-Architecture Complex”, which was published in September 2011.
