[VIRTUAL] Write to Heal Workshop with Salaam Green

The Magic City Poetry Festival, PEN America Birmingham, and the Hoover Public Library are proud to host eco-poet Salaam Green as she hosts a free virtual workshop on writing to heal. Participants will explore healing through poetry and will have the opportunity to create poetry or share their healing journey. This event is free and open to the public.


Salaam Green headshotSalaam Green is a master healer, born and bred in the Black Belt of Alabama. Green holds an MS in early childhood education and is a Southern essayist/freelance writer and poet. She founded the Literary Healing Arts Foundation and Red Couch Writers and acts as a rural organizer with Black Belt Citizens Fighting for Health and Justice. Green is an Artist-in-Residence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UAB Medicine.
