This panel was for authors, teachers, parents, caregivers, and involved older kids who are often challenged with tough questions during this time of social and political chaos. How much truth do we want to tell little children? And in what ways? Are there ever realities that we should hide? Wade Hudson, editor of We Rise, We Resist, We Raise Our Voices, addressed today’s controversies that affect writers as well as families, joined by Tonya Bolden, Eric Velasquez and Innosanto Nagara. Moderated by Fatima Shaik, co-chair of PEN Children’s and Young Adult Books Committee.
