PEN America and The EveryLibrary Institute invite you to attend a live and interactive media literacy webinar on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:30pm Eastern time.

Access to accurate information is an integral component of free expression and essential to public health and civic engagement, especially during a pandemic rife with both misinformation and disinformation. Amid the deluge of incorrect and misleading content in the health and political contexts, media literacy has become a chillingly vital prerequisite to empower online users in the fight against disinformation.

During this 90-minute training, participants will learn how to better identify manipulated content—about the pandemic and in the context of the upcoming 2020 election—and will leave equipped with PEN America’s Media Literacy Toolkit to promote healthier digital practices.

This webinar is the first installment of a series by PEN America and EveryLibrary Institute, which will be facilitated by Nora Benavidez, director of PEN America’s U.S. free expression programs. The webinar is free and open to the public.
