Join us for a virtual intimate evening with Masha Gessen, an award-winning writer and PEN America Trustee, to discuss their new book Surviving Autocracy. Gessen is the author of 11 books including The Future Is History: How Totalitarianism Reclaimed Russia, which won the National Book Award in 2017. Gessen has written about Russia, autocracy, L.G.B.T. rights, Vladimir Putin, and Donald Trump, among others, for The New York Review of Books and the New York Times.

A $250 donation is required to attend this very special evening. This donation is considered 100 percent tax-deductible and supports PEN America’s mission to defend writers and free expression at a time of unprecedented need.
