PEN America Virtual Authors’ Evening with Mark Ruffalo & Derek Cianfrance

Virtual Authors' Evening with Mark Ruffalo & Derek Cianfrance

Date: Wednesday, August 26, 2020
Time: 7:00pm ET / 4:00pm PT
Location: Zoom
Donation to Attend: $200

Join us for a special conversation with Mark Ruffalo and Derek Cianfrance to discuss HBO’s hit series I Know This Much Is True. Ruffalo, star and executive producer, and Cianfrance, executive producer, writer, and director, will discuss the making of the show and their collaboration with Wally Lamb, who wrote the novel on which the show is based.

I Know This Much Is True, a six-part series, charts the saga of Dominick and Thomas Birdsey (both played by Ruffalo), who are raised in a tense and sometimes violent household in a working-class town in Connecticut by their mother (Melissa Leo) and stepfather (John Procaccino). The identity of their biological father is a gnawing mystery.

A $200 donation required to attend this very special evening. This donation is considered 100 percent tax-deductible and supports PEN America’s mission to defend writers and free expression at a time of unprecedented need. Please fill out the form below to make a contribution and reserve your ticket. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

Space will be limited to 25 guests to facilitate audience participation and discussion. Following your RSVP, you will be sent the Zoom meeting invitation. This is a private video meeting, and only guests who are on the RSVP list will be permitted to join.
