Join us for a special Virtual Authors’ Evening with lauded playwright, screenwriter, and PEN America Trustee Lynn Nottage, the first and only woman to have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama twice. This conversation will feature special guest hosts Pamela and Peter Barbey.

An original voice in American theater, Lynn Nottage’s plays have been produced widely in the United States and throughout the world, and she is known internationally as a playwright whose entertaining and thought-provoking works address contemporary issues with empathy and humor. Lynn Nottage’s Sweat was hailed as “The First Theatrical Landmark of the Trump Era: Lynn Nottage’s play Sweat is a tough yet empathetic portrait of the America that came undone,” by The New Yorker. Her other plays include: By The Way, Meet Vera Stark, Ruined, Intimate Apparel, Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine, Crumbs from the Table of Joy; Las Meninas; Mud, River, Stone; Por’knockers; and POOF!.

A $125 donation is required to attend this very special evening. This donation is considered 100 percent tax-deductible and supports PEN America’s mission to defend writers and free expression at a time of unprecedented need.
