Janice Nimura headshot and "The Doctors Blackwell" cover

Date: Thursday, March 25, 2021
Time: 7:00pm ET / 4:00pm PT
Location: Zoom
Donation to Attend: $125 per person

Join us for a special conversation with Janice Nimura on her new book, The Doctors Blackwell: How Two Pioneering Sisters Brought Medicine to Women and Women to Medicine.

Deftly weaving the intertwined histories of American medical and social history, The Doctors Blackwell is an exploration of the lives, careers, and challenges of the Blackwell Sisters, two of the first female doctors in the United States and influential feminists of the time. A gifted storyteller, Nimura brings new life to the story of two extraordinary physicians who forever changed the medical profession. We are honored to be joined by Nimura to discuss the sisters’ story and the impact they had on medicine and feminism in America.

A $125 donation is required to attend this very special evening. This donation is considered 100 percent tax-deductible and supports PEN America’s mission to defend writers and free expression at a time of unprecedented need. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

Space will be limited to 25 guests to facilitate audience participation and discussion. Following your RSVP, you will be sent the Zoom meeting invitation. This is a private video meeting, and only guests who are on the RSVP list will be permitted to join.

Please contact Caelan Fortes at [email protected] for any additional questions or concerns.
