Join us for an intimate evening with bestselling author Carmen Maria Machado, who will be discussing her work, including her 2020 memoir, In the Dream House, which has been banned in schools and libraries in Texas. Machado, a longtime supporter and participant in PEN America events, has been a voice of resistance against censorship, bans, and the silencing of queer voices and writers of color. This evening, which is part of PEN America’s Banned Books Week series of events, is being hosted by EDEN Productions and the PEN America Young Patrons, a newly-formed group of donors dedicated to defending free expression.

Tickets are $150 to attend this evening. Following your RSVP, you will be sent the address for the evening. The donation is considered 100% tax-deductible and supports PEN America’s mission to defend writers and free expression at a time of unprecedented need. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

If you have any questions, please contact Christy Wensley at [email protected].
