[POSTPONED] Knowing the News: An Interactive Media Literacy Workshop – Greensboro

News & Media Literacy Training

UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, this Knowing the News workshop has been postponed to a later date. Thank you for understanding and stay tuned.

The Greensboro Public Library and PEN America present a free news and media literacy training, Knowing the News, on Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30pm at the Glenwood Branch, 1901 W Florida Street, Greensboro. Access to accurate information is an integral component of free expression and essential to civic engagement. During this 90-minute interactive training, participants will gain insight into how professional journalism works, learn how to assess the well-being of their news diets, and leave equipped to consume news with a critical eye and empowered to participate in the news ecosystem both locally and nationally. This training will support citizens in their quests to understand how the news is created, achieve balanced media consumption, and responsibly consume the information (and disinformation) disseminated daily.

Reservation is requested. Please confirm your reservation at the link below. For more information, contact Hannah Waltz, Media Literacy Training Coordinator, at [email protected].
