Havana with Leonardo Padura

A character in its own right, Havana lies central to the work and life of Leonardo Padura, author of the celebrated detective series, the “Havana Quartet”. As one of Cuba’s best-known authors, Padura chronicles the country from the Fidel Castro era to its present day quasi-capitalism with a dynamic host of characters that includes Leon Trotsky and Ernest Hemingway. He spoke with Mark Kurlansky in this festival event.

Co-presented with the Nuyorican Poets Cafe
