[WEBINAR] Faith Forward: Using Tech for Community Empowerment

Join PEN America and Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Faith Tech Connected Churches for a special virtual townhall: a live disinformation defense training on Thursday, October 29 at 6:00pm CT / 7:00pm ET to equip pastors, church staff, congregation leaders, and all members of the faith community with digital literacy tools to combat election disinformation this fall. Your Vote, Your Voice.

During this 90-minute training, participants will review the fundamentals of disinformation, strategies to better identify manipulated content in the context of election disinformation, and to subsequently share these skills with their congregations. Participants will leave equipped with PEN America’s Media Literacy Toolkit, which provides five key principles to practice in identifying false information and preventing its spread. We will discuss how and why disinformation campaigns are targeting Black, Latino, and other BIPOC voters as well as tech-oriented strategies for inoculating against these divisive tactics.

Please confirm your registration at the Zoom link below. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Pastor Bryant at [email protected] and/or Hannah Waltz at [email protected].
