Banned Books Week is an annual event that celebrates open access to books in our schools, libraries, and communities. This year, PEN America celebrated the week in North Carolina with a full day of activities.

The morning will started at 11am ET with a drag queen sidewalk storytime in partnership with Stonewall Sports – Greensboro. This event was an hour long, and ideal for curious children and families. Following a lunch break, PEN America hosted a sidewalk banned book reading and Pop Up Performance in the afternoon, starting at 2pm ET.
