POSTPONED: New Date TBD

Host: Sandra Leong
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Minimum Donation: $350.00

UPDATE: Following increased concerns about the COVID-19 virus and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our hosts, authors, guests, and staff, our remaining Winter/Spring 2020 Authors’ Evening dinners are being rescheduled for the fall. We are closely following the guidance being provided by health agencies at the city, state, and federal levels and will continue to update this site with new dates as they are determined. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

In an intimate evening with guests of PEN America, Elizabeth Kolbert, climate activist and author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Sixth Extinction, and story prize-winning fiction writer Jim Shepard, whose subject is usually catastrophe, will discuss the shared territory in their work — and their shared anxieties.

Tickets to this dinner are considered a 100% tax-deductible donation to PEN America and are available on a limited basis. Please click below to purchase your ticket(s) and reserve your seat(s).

The PEN America Authors’ Evenings are nights of literary dinners in private homes and intimate settings. Please visit the Authors’ Evenings webpage for our full calendar of dinners.

Proceeds from the PEN America Authors’ Evenings dinners support PEN America’s programming to secure the liberty of persecuted and imprisoned writers around the world, to defend freedom of expression, and to promote literature and international cultural exchange.
