Donate to the Writers’ Emergency Fund

PEN America is an organization of writers and their allies, and that solidarity is never more important than during a global crisis such as the one we’re facing now in the coronavirus pandemic. Unemployment claim numbers all around the country are staggering, and while airlines and big companies are getting bailouts, writers aren’t.

That’s why PEN America has re-launched the Writers’ Emergency Fund, a streamlined way of getting needed cash to published writers who face acute financial need.

Working writers are struggling right now to pay rent, pay bills. Many have no health insurance. Our Writers’ Emergency Fund is a lifeline for them, and we need your help to keep it running. Donate now, and your dollars will go directly to working writers most directly feeling the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
