NEW YORK—PEN American Center condemns the senseless killings of reporter Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward of Virginia’s WDBJ7 news station, who were shot to death this morning during a live broadcast. “Today’s events are a horrific reminder of the risks journalists around the world face while doing their jobs, said Karin Deutsch Karlekar, Director of Free Expression Programs at PEN American Center. “Our deepest condolences go out to the families, friends, and colleagues of Alison Parker and Adam Ward.”
