Rick Moody
Rick Moody Rick Moody was born in New York City on October 18, 1961.

He is the author of Garden State, The Ice Storm, Purple America, The Ring of Brightest Angels Around Heaven, and Demonology. He is the co-editor (with Darcey Steinke) of an anthology of essays, Joyful Noise: The New Testament Revisited.

 

His short work has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Harper’s, Esquire, The Atlantic, and The Village Voice. His nonfiction genealogical narrative The Black Veil won the 2003 PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir. His new novel, The Diviner, was published in January 2006.
